W.A.S.H (WASH 94.9FM), a high-power Lagos-based radio station launched in 2024, is dedicated to promoting total wellness through health-focused programming, expert education, and entertainment. Inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goal 6, the station’s name stands for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene.
WASH 94.9FM is designed as a health-centric, family-focused radio station with a mix of the best fun music, entertainment and information targeted at an informed audience in the 25-65 plus age group and generally those who are young at heart. It is an Urban Adult Contemporary full-service station, broadcasting health issues, news/information, music, entertainment, topical issues, traffic, sports and weather information.
All these elements are rolled into our hot and exciting breakfast, afternoon and evening drive time shows. The station transmits (for now)18-hours daily and identifies with its modern listeners by way of a target-oriented music mix.
WASH FM aimed at improving awareness of crucial health issues across the country and to satisfy listeners’ needs in order to maintain the majority market share through quality programming. As market leaders in the health entertainment arena, we have set the pace and trend for today’s audience in the Nigerian radio business.
Apart from the music, the station’s programming is predominantly on behavioural change and personality-driven, with quality On-Air presenters. The Station also offers interviews and commentary from industry leaders in healthcare and health information technology, as well as originally produced programming.
